Unicaja bets on fintech, positioning itself in the emerging market of digital assets and blockchain

Unicaja Banco has acquired more than 5% of the fintech Bit2Me, which specializes in digital asset services, through its new investment vehicle, Unicaja Ventures. This transaction allows Unicaja to join Bit2Me’s board of directors and establish a commercial agreement to jointly develop innovative financial products.

This strategic investment aligns with Unicaja’s goal of positioning itself in the emerging market of digital assets and blockchain technologies, anticipating the implementation of European regulations such as MiCA (Markets in Crypto Assets) and the Pilot Regime, which will govern the issuance and management of cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets. By partnering with Bit2Me, Unicaja aims to strengthen its technological capabilities and adapt to the evolving demands of the digital financial market.

For Bit2Me, this alliance with Unicaja represents an opportunity to expand its range of services, benefiting from the expertise and stability of a traditional financial institution. Both companies share values of security, transparency, and customer commitment, and they aim to jointly lead innovations in the financial sector as the new European regulations take effect.
