Unicaja bets on fintech to compete better in the market.

Unicaja Banco has formed a strategic alliance with Fiserv, a prominent international fintech, to advance solutions in payments and e-commerce. This agreement aims to integrate omnichannel, speed, security, and convenience into the services offered, addressing the growing demands of the Spanish market.

The collaboration will combine Unicaja’s financial strength with Fiserv’s innovative capabilities, enabling the implementation of tools that facilitate the processing of various payment methods, such as POS systems and e-commerce solutions, across any channel. The goal is to offer clients a personalized proposition that enhances the merchant experience and adapts to the current digital landscape.

Isidro Rubiales, CEO of Unicaja, emphasized that this initiative is a decisive step in the strategy to improve services for businesses and freelancers, focusing on adding value and tailoring the offering to customer needs. Katia Karpova, executive vice president of Fiserv in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, noted that the alliance has the potential to transform the Spanish payments market and create long-term value for Unicaja.

This move reflects the growing trend of traditional financial institutions partnering with fintechs to innovate and improve their services in an increasingly digitalized market.
